Position Title : Sales Strategy and Category Manager
Status:

Reports to:
VP of Growth Strategy and Corporate Affairs
Compensation : $115,000 to $122,000

About you You are a dynamic, results‑oriented Sales Strategy & Category Manager who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution. In this role, you will report directly to the VP, Growth Strategy & Corporate Affairs, while working closely with the VP, Sales to drive alignment and impact across the organization.
You will play a critical role in building and leading a Market Intelligence and Strategy Hub, becoming the key connector between Marketing and Sales. As a trusted strategic partner, you will translate insights into action, shaping go‑to‑market strategies that drive growth across both grocery and pet specialty channels. You will bring ideas to life by developing clear, actionable go‑to‑market plans and ensuring strong, effective execution that delivers measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Sales Strategy to translate strategy into execution by defining clear go-to-market priorities and driving adoption of AMPS fundamentals
Develop category intelligence and thought leadership for internal and external use
Convert quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights to identify portfolio & category whitespace and build compelling sell stories
Demonstrate leadership formally and informally by coaching direct report(s) and influencing cross‑functional teams
Create new shopper marketing programs that amplify national brand plans and create stronger in‑store experiences
Support Sales Directors with annual planning processes like Collab Planning, JBP, Holiday, and lead our annual sales planning offsite
Partner with Marketing and Sales on USA market development to drive growth and distribution
Develop product and customer mix strategies that maximizes growth and resource allocation
Drive innovation launch excellence and competitive defense plans
Recipe to success
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
6–10 years of relevant experience within the CPG industry
Demonstrated strategic agility and an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment
Strong ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive results across cross‑functional teams
Proven expertise in translating Nielsen and syndicated data into actionable insights and business recommendations
Comfortable operating at both the strategic and tactical levels, with the ability to connect long‑term vision to execution
Deep understanding of brand development within retail and experiential environments
Experience in brand marketing and shopper marketing
Sales or account management experience considered an asset
Proven people leadership experience, including coaching and developing teams
Strong ability to leverage data to generate compelling insights and influence decision‑making
Experience within the quick‑moving consumer goods (CPG) industry considered an asset
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and proficiency in Excel
Demonstrated strategic agility and an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to adapt and drive results in a dynamic environment
Strong ability to build relationships and influence cross‑functional teams to achieve business outcomes
Exceptional ability to translate Nielsen and syndicated data into actionable insights and meaningful strategies
Comfortable navigating between high‑level strategy and hands‑on execution
Deep understanding of brand building within retail and experiential environments
