We are seeking a versatile, persistent Product Engineer to build reusable building blocks across the stack and advocate for the time and space to do so. As a member of Ashby’s engineering team, you will ship features end‑to‑end at a high pace, owning product and design components, and delivering value to tens of thousands of daily users.

About The Role

As a Product Engineer, you will take ownership over a large portion of one of our products, handling the entire product life cycle from research and spec writing to design, implementation, and delivery. Your work will touch product, UI, and infrastructure concerns, and you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers.

Responsibilities

- Research competitors and write product specifications.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design system components.
- Build and maintain key features such as automated interview scheduling, declarative filter architecture, and in‑app offer signing.
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of features, including cross‑functional coordination and integration with other product areas.
- Prototype solutions with user feedback and iterate to meet product goals.
- Maintain high‑quality code, enforce best practices, and contribute to the internal developer experience.

Qualifications

- Strong technical ownership: Comfortable with frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Experience delivering complex, ambiguous products that require product and technical depth.




- Ability to balance speed and quality with an understanding of user impact.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of vetting decisions with stakeholders.
- Driven to create leverage through automation, abstraction, and tooling.
- Experience in a high‑growth environment or with large user bases is a plus.
