Overview
Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC) is the leading independent clearing broker and custodian in the Canadian market. We provide trade execution, clearing, custody and back‑office support services to Canadian‑based brokerage firms and the Canadian brokerage arms of U.S.‑based firms. The Incident & Release Manager will oversee technology and operations incident management, manage application releases for critical FCC applications, and ensure all change and incident processes are followed.
Responsibilities
- Act as Incident Manager and establish proper processes within FCC.
- Ensure FIL Major Incident Management processes are followed for major events in Canada.
- Coordinate business continuity and disaster recovery analysts for the FCC Technology group.
- Coordinate response and recovery activities with key internal employees, vendors, and stakeholders for all FCC incidents.
- Coordinate post‑mortems, root cause analysis, and post‑incident reviews and reports, capturing lessons learned.
- Develop and maintain the critical incident response decision‑making tree and incident management playbooks.
- Conduct periodic scenario analysis tests (table‑tops or simulations) of response playbooks and implement improvements.
- Liaise with International Major Incident Managers and represent FCC in major global events.
- Recommend enhancements to the Major Incident Management framework where necessary.
- Develop and facilitate regular training for FCC employees and stakeholders on incident processes.
- Produce and maintain production release management documentation, ensuring successful deployment of all code in accordance with Fidelity Change Management policies.
- Coordinate change management procedures for each system change, including testing, QA, UAT, sign‑off, and integration into production environments.
- Provide documentation and visuals for audit cycles and coordinate all upcoming deployments with vendors and product owners.
- Establish relationships with FCC business units and recommend new processes and procedures to ensure superior service.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of incident and release management experience.
- University degree or equivalent work experience.
- Solid desktop computer skills using MS Office.
- Experience creating and continuously improving incident management roles.
- Experience running complex technology and operational incidents.
- Solid knowledge of mid/back‑office brokerage or banking business environment.
- Analytical thinking, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical material to non‑technical users.
- Solid ability to collaborate, influence, and build relationships.
Total Rewards
- Competitive annual base salary in the range of $135,000 to $146,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- Discretionary performance bonus.
