The Prospect

Dentalcorp is Canada's largest and fastest‑growing network of dental practices. Our continued expansion, including cross‑border activity, creates new complexity in tax management. We are hiring a Head of Tax to lead both our Canadian and U.S. tax functions, ensuring compliance, optimizing our tax position, and supporting our acquisitive growth strategy on both sides of the border.

This position is based out of Dentalcorp's Toronto Support Centre and reports to the VP, Finance. The role is critical to Dentalcorp's long‑term growth ambitions and offers a unique opportunity to shape the tax function of a leading organization as it scales its operations in Canada and the United States.

Business Need

Provide senior tax leadership across Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions to support compliance, M&A; activity, and strategic planning.

Why Now

Dentalcorp's rapid growth and expanding cross‑border footprint require dedicated, dual‑jurisdiction tax leadership.

What's Unique

A hands‑on, high‑impact role with broad scope across compliance, provision, planning, transfer pricing, and audit defense — in a high‑growth, entrepreneurial environment.

Who You Are

- An innovative, quality‑focused tax professional eager to be part of a rapidly growing company that enables the best to be even better. Deep expertise in both Canadian and U.S. tax and a desire to apply that expertise to drive change.
- Analytical & detail‑oriented, able to synthesize complex cross‑border tax issues into actionable insights.
- Relationship‑builder who can partner effectively with Finance, Treasury, Legal, and external advisors in Canada and the U.S.
- Change agent comfortable in a high‑growth, acquisitive, quick‑paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Culturally aligned with Dentalcorp's values — Beyond the Status Quo, Brilliant Together, Beyond Excellence, Brilliant Experiences — and comfortable with ambiguity.

- Leader and mentor who can coach the team through a transition toward delivering increasingly value‑added insights.

In This Role, You Will

- Lead Canadian and U.S. tax compliance, serving as the principal contact for government tax audits in both jurisdictions.
- Manage compliance and elections arising from all acquisitions.
- Own the quarterly and annual income tax provision (Canadian and U.S.) and related note disclosures.
- Manage and track all filing deadlines and requirements for both Canadian and U.S. obligations.
- Provide oversight of tax payments and estimates communicated to Treasury, and reconcile tax accounts.
- Ensure transfer pricing policies and documentation are current, consistently applied, and compliant.
- Provide business analysis, including projections of future cash taxes across jurisdictions.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate internal processes to optimize and automate the tax function while minimizing risk.
- Actively monitor, assess, and respond to potential tax changes impacting the organization.
- Address complex tax issues and partner across the business for timely, accurate advice.
- Lead CRA and IRS correspondence end‑to‑end.
- Partner with Controllership and external auditors on all tax‑related reporting matters, including uncertain tax positions and deferred tax accounting.
- Drive tax technology and process automation initiatives.
- Present tax matters to the CFO, Audit Committee, and external auditors as required.

What You'll Bring

- Post‑secondary education in a related field and 10‑12+ years of tax experience dealing with complex issues and optimization projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in both Canadian and U.S. tax — compliance, provision,

M&A; tax, and cross‑border/transfer pricing matters.
- Professional accounting designation: Canadian CPA required; U.S. CPA, MST, or in‑depth CICA Tax Course an asset.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems and BI tools.
- Experience in and motivation by a high‑growth, acquisitive, rapid‑paced environment.
- Superior analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex issues into actionable points.
- Ability to manage multiple large, complex projects and competing priorities while building strong relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to mentor and coach the team through a transition toward providing value‑added insights.
- Ability to live and champion Dentalcorp values.
- Big 4 foundation strongly preferred, with subsequent in‑house experience at a public company or PE‑backed acquirer.
