Reporting Manager Title: Department Manager, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering

Responsibilities

Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley, client, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.

Key Accountabilities Include:

- Leading the execution of electrical engineering activities on assigned projects or defined project scopes.
- Supporting project planning and delivery, including participation in relevant meetings, preparation of progress reports, and compliance with required checking and quality assurance procedures.
- Ensuring project scope is clearly defined and that changes are managed in accordance with project change management processes.
- Providing technical input and support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, including:
- Preparation and review of electrical equipment and materials requisitions
- Technical bid evaluations
- Review of vendor documentation and purchase orders

- Coordinating electrical engineering activities with multidisciplinary teams (process, instrumentation, mechanical, piping, automation) to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies between Worley and client standards and requirements.
- Supporting the development and technical review of electrical engineering deliverables.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to intermediate and junior engineers and designers as required.
- Communicating effectively with internal teams, clients,



and project stakeholders.
- Proactively identifying technical issues and risks, developing appropriate solutions, and escalating when needed.

Qualifications

Technical & Industry Experience

- Demonstrated experience delivering electrical engineering work on industrial projects (e.g., energy, mining, chemicals, power, or infrastructure).
- Working knowledge of engineering systems, workflows, and document management tools (e.g., SAP, KMS, or equivalent project systems).
- Familiarity with process safety and operability considerations (e.g., participation in HAZOP/LOPA where electrical systems interface with safety functions).
- Understanding of project scope definition, workshare execution, and the practical impacts of TA/NTA execution models. Strong working knowledge of Electrical Engineering deliverables, including:
- Electrical single-line diagrams and schematics
- Power distribution studies and load lists
- Motor control center (MCC) layouts and schematics
- Cable schedules, routing, tray and conduit layouts
- Grounding and bonding drawings Lighting and small power layouts
- Area classification and hazardous area electrical layouts
- Bills of material
- Material requisitions
- Construction and engineering work packages

- Working knowledge of electrical system design and application, including:





- Low and medium voltage power distribution systems
- Motor control and protection systems
- Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Lighting systems and emergency power
- Grounding, bonding, and lightning protection
- Hazardous area electrical design and applicable codes/standards

Education, Qualifications & Accreditation

Required:

- Accredited Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Registration as a Qualified Engineer (P.Eng) with APEGA, or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Solid experience in electrical engineering roles on multidisciplinary projects.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, review, and interpret electrical designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Communication, coordination, and analytical skills.

For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $125,970 to $170,430 . (Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.)
