Our client, a well‑established manufacturing company in North York , is seeking an experienced Contract Controller to support their finance function during a critical period. This Controller role is being recruited on a contract basis and is ideal for a hands‑on financial leader with strong manufacturing and operational accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and month‑end close
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with ASPE
- Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and banking partners
- Improve financial reporting, processes, and controls as required
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support operational decision‑making

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience




- Previous experience as a Controller or Senior Finance Manager
- Strong background in manufacturing accounting
- Hands‑on experience with cost accounting
- Hands‑on experience with inventory management
- Hands‑on experience with variance analysisHands‑on experience with month‑end close
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar strongly preferred)
- Solid communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
- Location: North York, ON
- Work model: On‑site or hybrid (based on operational requirements)
- Competitive hourly or daily rate, commensurate with experience
