Purpose
We are recruiting for a Senior Instrumentation Engineer. This full‑time position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Responsibilities
- Deliver instrumentation engineering services that meet client and statutory requirements on time and within budget.
- Lead the execution of instrumentation and control engineering activities on assigned projects.
- Support project planning and delivery, including meetings, progress reports, and quality assurance procedures.
- Ensure project scope is clearly defined and changes are managed following project change management processes.
- Provide technical input during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, including requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor documentation review.
- Coordinate instrumentation engineering activities with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between Worley and client standards.
- Support the development and technical review of instrumentation engineering deliverables.
- Provide guidance and support to intermediate and junior engineers as required.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Proactively identify technical issues and risks, develop solutions, and escalations when needed.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated experience delivering instrumentation and control engineering work on industrial projects (e.g., energy, mining, chemicals, infrastructure).
- Working knowledge of engineering systems, workflows, and document management tools (SAP, KMS, or equivalent project systems).
- Experience in process safety and operability studies (HAZOP, LOPA) and implementation into engineering design.
- Understanding of project scope definition, workshare execution, and the impacts of TA/NTA execution models.
- Solid experience in instrumentation and control engineering roles on multidisciplinary projects.
- Ability to develop, review, and interpret I&C; designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills.

- Loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and instrument location drawings
- Motor control and interconnection schematics
- Instrument datasheets and specifications
- I/O lists
- Bills of material
- Cable, conduit, and tray schedules
- Control narratives and philosophies
- Material requisitions
- Construction and engineering work packages
Instrumentation Selection
- Flow measurement (orifice, vortex, venturi, magnetic, ultrasonic)
- Temperature measurement (thermowell design and frequency wake calculations)
- Pressure measurement
Education & Qualifications
- Accredited Engineering Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related discipline.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with EGBC or eligibility to obtain registration.
Salary
For applicants based in British Columbia, the salary range is $125,970 to $170,430.
