The Community Relations Manager reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Affairs and plays a vital role in sustaining best‑practice communication, stakeholder relations, and community engagement across all projects.

What You’ll Do Here

- Collaborate with the client and colleagues to develop communications and public information materials that engage, educate, and build trust with stakeholders and community members, ensuring timely and transparent communications with Indigenous communities, local businesses, residents, transit users, and the public.
- Manage the research, planning, development, and execution of communication and crisis plans for various scopes of work, events, and/or issues management.
- Liaise with the construction team to craft engagement strategies and materials for print, digital, or social media formats, including fact sheets, construction notices, advertisements, copy writing, blogs, newsletters, presentations, signage, Q&A;, community letters, and more.
- Produce media relations materials such as press releases, media responses, and statements, providing media training and counsel to technical staff and supporting the client’s media strategy.




- Manage the development and maintenance of a digital repository of photo and video assets.
- Lead the planning and execution of special events with multiple stakeholders to mark project milestones.
- Attend stakeholder and community meetings, operations meetings, and communications working group meetings to proactively identify activities that need to be communicated.
- Manage the execution of community outreach meetings, forums, public information centres, tours, and other stakeholder meetings.
- Foster relationships with public and private sector partners, professional associations, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to service standards by mitigating, responding to, and reporting project‑related issues, ensuring timely resolution of public inquiries regarding design and construction activities.
- Lead emergency and crisis preparedness, ensuring required communications materials are implemented and updated.
- Liaise with AEcon’s corporate leads to transfer best practices and lessons learned for similar projects on an ongoing basis.

What You Bring To The Team

- 7+ years’ experience in communications within the infrastructure/transit sectors.
- A post‑secondary degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Experience in media relations, crisis communications, issues management, corporate and community relations.




- Ability to lead and mentor a communications team while fostering individual and collective growth.
- Established relationships with Toronto area media.
- Knowledge of working with elected officials and various levels of government (asset).
- Customer focused, detail‑oriented, responsive and proactive.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Digital, social, and traditional media savvy.
- Professional business communication designations considered an asset.

Reason for vacancy: Replacement.

Pay Range: $100,000 – $130,000.
