Senior US Tax Accountant

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established mid-sized public accounting firm that partners with privately owned businesses and entrepreneurial clients. They are known for delivering personalized advisory services and fostering long-term client relationships. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a Senior US Tax Accountant to their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with cross-border experience who is looking to work in a collaborative environment with exposure to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review U.S. personal, corporate, and partnership tax returns for cross-border clients.
- Apply knowledge of the Canada–U.S. Tax Treaty, Internal Revenue Code, and Canada's Income Tax Act to determine appropriate tax filings.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted point of contact.
- Communicate directly with clients to obtain required documentation and ensure timely completion of engagements.
- Research and analyze a variety of U.S. and cross-border tax matters.




- Collaborate with Managers and Partners to provide tax planning and compliance solutions.
- Assist with voluntary disclosures and IRS Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures.
- Work closely with internal and external professionals to support client engagements.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing U.S. tax returns within a public accounting firm.
- Experience with cross-border tax is strongly preferred.
- Canadian tax knowledge is considered an asset.
- Estate tax experience is an asset.
- CPA designation is preferred, but candidates who are not pursuing the designation will also be considered.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service.
- Detail-oriented with a collaborative, team-first approach.
