Airswift is seeking a Strategic Sourcing & Contracts Advisor to work with one of our O&G; clients in Calgary, AB on an initial 6‑month contract with a strong potential for permanent hire based on performance.
The role is to support strategic sourcing, specifically focused on management of Strategic Contracts (PVF, MRO, commodity driven scopes)
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, applying forward‑looking thinking and commercial acumen to optimize contract outcomes and mitigate risk.
- Lead the negotiation and lifecycle management of contracts, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives, regulatory requirements, and evolving market conditions.
- Apply in‑depth market research and industry analysis to evaluate supplier capabilities, assess pricing structures, and identify opportunities within key commodity portfolios, particularly within chemicals and related categories.
- Manage supplier and contractor relationships to enhance performance, foster collaboration, and drive continuous value creation through effective contract governance.
- Utilize data analytics, spend analysis, and benchmarking to generate actionable insights, enabling informed decision‑making and improved cost management.
- Communicate complex commercial concepts clearly through impactful presentations, influencing stakeholders and supporting alignment on sourcing strategies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by assessing market trends, identifying process enhancements, and advancing innovative approaches within supply chain practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and Canadian contract law across all supply management activities.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 10 - 15 years of progressive experience in operations, category management and strategic sourcing of high spend/high profiles scopes.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and develop strategies without prompting from the Business Unit.
- Demonstrated ability to influence Business Units and others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Qualified in Supply Management (CPSM), or a paralegal certification are considered an asset.
