Program Overview
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) Training Program is a 6‑month sponsored training that provides the skills needed to support clients in the community.
Program Details
Five (5) weeks of paid PSW training at $19.05 per hour, Monday to Friday 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Participants who complete the first five weeks are paid to work part‑time in the community while continuing education.
Continued training includes 4 months of virtual learning, 3 weeks of in‑person skills lab, and required placements.
Training covers personal care activities, household management, and general support.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care and daily living activities.
Support household management tasks as needed.
Provide general supportive care in community settings.
Participate in required training and placement rotations.
Requirements
Ability to travel and attend meetings to support patient needs.
Valid G or G2 driver's license and reliable vehicle.
Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certificate on Day 1.
Proof of updated immunizations (MMR, Varicella/Zoster, HepB, Tetanus) and a negative tuberculosis test within the last 6 months.
Clear police check and vulnerable sector check (upon job offer).
