Our Ottawa based client, is seeking an experienced SAP Development Lead to support a large-scale SAP transformation initiative involving the migration from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition under RISE with SAP.
This role will provide technical leadership and oversight across SAP development initiatives spanning SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Fiori/UI5, and custom SAP application development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across SAP development initiatives delivered by system integrators and internal teams
- Lead technical solution design reviews and ensure alignment with SAP best practices, governance standards, and clean-core principles
- Conduct code reviews, quality assurance checks, and development oversight across SAP solutions
- Support SAP S/4HANA transformation activities including:
- Custom code remediation
- SAP Integration Suite migration
- SAP Fiori modernization
- CDS and embedded analytics enablement
- Selective Data Transition (SDT) initiatives
- Collaborate closely with business teams, architects, and system integrators to ensure high-quality delivery outcomes
- Provide hands‑on technical leadership across SAP development, integration, and extensibility initiatives
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 15+ years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience
- Strong expertise in:
- ABAP OO
- HANA optimization / SQL tuning
- SAP CDS Views
- RAP development
- SAP Fiori/UI5
- SAP Integration Suite
- SAP extensibility and clean-core principles
- Experience leading SAP development teams and enforcing development governance standards
- Solid experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or conversions, including SPAU/SPDD remediation activities
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps
- Strong understanding of SAP Finance and Controlling processes
- Experience working with system integrators and enterprise stakeholders in complex SAP environments
Education / Certifications
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Information Systems or related field
- At least one valid SAP certification required
- Recent SAP-related professional development or training considered an asset
