We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant (RA) who is currently enrolled in a JD, BCL, or LLM program to support a research project examining the development and application of sanctions clauses in international commercial contracts. The position is suitable for candidates with strong doctrinal research skills and an interest in international business law.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct doctrinal and comparative legal research
Locate, analyze, and synthesize case law, arbitral awards, legislation, and scholarly commentary
Draft research memoranda, summaries, and analytical notes
Assist in the preparation of academic publications and scholarly outputs
Engage critically and independently with complex legal materials
Qualifications
Current enrollment in a JD, BCL, or LLM program
Minimum academic standing of B+
Strong legal research and writing skills
Knowledge of French is an asset
Demonstrated interest in contract law, economic sanctions, international trade law, or related fields
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain close attention to detail
