The Pest Control Technician is responsible for inspecting residential and commercial properties, identifying pest infestations, performing treatments, educating customers on prevention, and ensuring all services are completed safely, professionally, and in accordance with company standards and local regulations.
Responsibilities
Inspect homes and businesses for signs of pest activity.
Identify rodents, insects, and other common pests.
Develop and explain treatment plans to customers.
Apply pesticides and other pest management products according to label directions and applicable regulations.
Install, monitor, and maintain rodent bait stations, traps, and monitoring devices.
Seal pest entry points and recommend exclusion methods.
Perform interior and exterior treatments for pests including:
Ants
Spiders
Wasps
Cockroaches
Silverfish
Bed Bugs (if trained)
Rodents (rats and mice)
Remove spider webs and wasp nests when appropriate.
Keep accurate service reports, treatment records, and customer notes.
Maintain company equipment and service vehicle.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Provide excellent customer service and answer customer questions.
Schedule and complete follow-up services as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Comfortable working in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and on ladders.
Solid communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage daily routes.
Reliable, punctual, and skilled appearance.
Basic smartphone or tablet skills for completing service reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous pest control experience.
Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Provincial pesticide applicator certification or ability to obtain one.
Experience using backpack sprayers, power sprayers, dusters, bait stations, and traps.
Sales or customer service experience.
Physical Requirements
Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Work in confined spaces and at heights when required.
Safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
