The Service Technician diagnoses, repairs, maintains, and inspects equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role supports customer productivity through high-quality technical service delivered in both shop and field environments, while adhering to company safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Service Technician works collaboratively with Parts, Service Advisors, and fellow technicians and represents the Company’s commitment to safety, professionalism, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Service & Repair
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues in accordance with manufacturer standards
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements
Test and verify equipment performance following service
Field & Shop Support
Provide in-shop and field service support, including peak-season and emergency repairs
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Complete accurate work orders, including labour, parts, and service notes
Safety & Compliance
Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and safe work practices
Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses; exercise stop-work authority when required
Customer & Team Collaboration
Communicate findings and service recommendations clearly to customers and Service Advisors
Work collaboratively with Parts and Service teams to support timely, high-quality repairs
Support apprentices and junior technicians through guidance and knowledge sharing, as applicable
Continuous Improvement
Participate in manufacturer and internal training
Stay current on equipment, technology, and service practices
Contribute to quality, efficiency, and process improvements
Qualifications
Journeyperson Agricultural or Heavy Equipment Technician certification preferred, or actively registered apprentice
Previous experience servicing agricultural or heavy equipment preferred
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Experience completing inspections, work orders, and service documentation
Valid driver’s license required
Working Conditions
Work performed in shop and field environments, including outdoor conditions
Physical work involving tools, equipment, and machinery
Exposure to typical shop conditions (noise, dust, oils, fuels)
Overtime and extended hours during peak seasons
Field service requires local travel
