Our Telecommunications group is currently looking to add a Construction Supervisor to our growing team, based in Sherwood Park, AB.

Reporting to the Project Manager, we are seeking an experienced Construction Leader who will be responsible for leading on-site construction crews and acting as the primary liaison between Project Managers, field crews, and the client, ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, on budget, and to quality standards.

Please Note: This is a field-based position that will need to accommodate multiple shift requirements based on site‑specific project schedules. Occasional travel will also be required (25% of the time).

Duties And Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact for Project Managers and the main liaison between Valard crews and the client's Site Representative

Lead and supervise on‑site crews, ensuring construction activities comply with project drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, and Valard safety and quality standards

Promote and support the implementation of Valard's safety policies and procedures, leading by example

Ensure all near‑miss and incident events are properly investigated and that corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence

Collaborate closely with Project Managers to develop and maintain construction schedules through the efficient use of manpower, materials, tools, and equipment

Support the management of subcontractors on site, including monitoring productivity to maintain project schedules and contract budgets

Assist Project Managers in developing project execution plans, coordinating kick‑off meetings and scope reviews,



and working with the Contracts team to support successful project delivery

Mentor, train, and motivate crews to foster a strong culture of safety, quality, and productivity

Ensure crews are knowledgeable of, and consistently adhere to, company safety, construction, and quality policies and procedures

Ensure accurate and timely completion and submission of crew timesheets

Support internal and external audits and inspection activities as required

Coordinate equipment reviews and scheduling

Conduct employee performance reviews and support disciplinary actions, in collaboration with HR and Safety, as required for policy non‑compliance

Requirements

5 years of experience in the telecom construction industry (Applicable experience in utility infrastructure construction may also be considered)

Working knowledge of fiber, copper cable, and coax placement both aerial and underground

Knowledge in both Directional Drilling and Vibratory Plowing

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Experience leading multiple work crews

Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, project scheduling, cost, and quality controls

Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office
