You’ll work across safety analysis, licensing, and engineering projects supporting nuclear facilities.
Position Overview
As a Senior Nuclear Analyst, you will lead technical work in nuclear safety and licensing, act as a key point of contact for clients, and support project delivery from planning through execution. You will also mentor team members and contribute to the growth of Calian’s nuclear practice.
Responsibilities
Lead nuclear safety and licensing deliverables across projects
Act as a subject matter expert and primary client interface
Mentor and support development of junior team members
Contribute to technical proposals and business development
Build and maintain robust client and partner relationships
Identify opportunities to expand services and support growth
Qualifications
Degree in engineering, physics, or a related field
6–8+ years of experience in nuclear safety, analysis, or licensing
Experience in areas such as PSA, DSA, hazard analysis, or safety reporting
Familiarity with CNSC regulations and applicable standards (e.g., REGDOCs)
Experience with tools such as MCNP, SCALE, GOTHIC, MAAP, or similar
Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical work
Ability to obtain government of Canada security clearances
Assets:
P.Eng designation
Participation in industry standards committees (e.g., CSA)
We welcome applicants from across Canada, with a preference for candidates located in the Ottawa and Toronto areas who can work a hybrid schedule. Occasional travel may be required for this role.
Compensation
$90,000 – $140,000 per annum
