Purpose

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer. This is a full‑time position based in Kitimat, British Columbia. The role also targets the Vancouver office for Mining, Minerals & Metals (MMM) projects.

Responsibilities

- Work independently at an advanced level, completing a wide variety of assignments through the application of advanced engineering theories and regularly visiting client sites.
- Apply substantial knowledge of regulations, codes, nuclear standards and industry best practices for control, development and application of deliverables.

What You Will Bring

- Lead‑level experience in structural discipline with prior work on MMM projects.
- Strong background in discipline work and a competent understanding of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards and industry best practices.
- Skilled in estimating project costs and leading a team of engineers and designers.
- Trained in leadership and project execution.
- Senior level design management experience on mining, minerals & metals projects.
- Experience leading and overseeing design/engineering teams.
- Experience in design management development and planning.
- Ability to produce calculations and use STAAD PRO software.




- Robust leadership, communication, organization and analytical skills.
- Will conduct site visits as required.

Other Discipline‑Specific Job Knowledge

- Experience and knowledge in grass roots and brownfield projects.
- Structural design for integrity reviews based on sound engineering principles.
- Design and development of typical structural scope items such as foundations, steel, concrete, and masonry.
- Expertise in regulations, codes, nuclear standards and industry best practices. Specific knowledge of National Building Codes is essential.

Required

- Must be a member of Professional Engineers of British Columbia.

For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $122,176 to $169,718. Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
