Key Responsibilities:
Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments as necessary;
Communicating with clients, lawyers, and the courts;
Assist with all aspects of Federal Prosecutions
Attendance at court to pick up unsealed search warrants and other court material
Open files iCase and prepare disclosure for the Crown and accused(s)/defence counsel
Prepare correspondence to accused(s)/defence counsel
Email vetted disclosure to accused(s)/defence counsel
Enter timekeeping in iCase system
Review files and request additional disclosure
Report to PPSC on all new matters
Download and save disclosure from evidence.com to server
Print additional disclosure for review by the Crown
Copy audio/video disclosure to USB
Maintain record of USB’s used for disclosure purposes
Arrange telephone Crown pre-trials
Communicate with Police agencies, defence counsel and/or accused’s, courts and Crown counsel on a daily basis
Draft and prepare court documents
Prepare Applications to unseal search warrants
Request certified documents
Assist with maintenance of court calendars and dockets
Maintain file dockets and disclosure checklists
Maintain diary of disclosure requests
File documents at court office
Prepare files for court each day and update dockets as required
Other general duties as required
