Join the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal Liaison Committee as we seek current members focused on improving the dialogue between the Court and Society. Suitable for those with experience in criminal defence, plaintiff-side civil litigation, or small firm practice. This committee is dedicated to ensuring effective communication with the Supreme Court.
Members will play vital roles in identifying significant practice and policy issues, recommending practical solutions, and communicating outcomes to enhance legal practices in the community. We are committed to fostering a diverse committee and welcome applicants from historically excluded communities. Key Responsibilities:
Identify relevant practice and policy challenges
Recommend actionable solutions for issues
Share findings with the Court and Society
Maintain effective communication across the profession
Promote diversity and inclusion within the committee Requirements:
Experience in criminal defence or civil litigation
Small firm legal background preferred
Robust verbal and written communication abilities
Passion for enhancing the legal landscape
Interest in equity and access initiatives Play a critical role in shaping the communication pathways in Nova Scotia’s legal workplace.
