Champlain Gardens is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to our residents, This role requires a robust commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through personalized care and assistance.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive workplace.
Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the living space of clients.
Document care provided and report any significant changes in client health or behavior to appropriate personnel.
Support clients with dementia care by engaging them in activities that stimulate cognitive function.
Requirements
Previous experience in home care, hospice care, or caregiving is preferred.
Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and basic nursing skills.
Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in caregiving.
Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting or assisting clients with mobility.
A genuine passion for helping others and improving their quality of life is essential.
