Join the Eeyou Marine Region Planning Commission as a GIS Analyst, leading spatial analysis, database management, and community mapping initiatives. This full-time, one-year contract position is based remotely near Montréal. As the GIS Analyst, you will be instrumental in developing and managing geospatial databases that support environmental, cultural, and land-use planning.
Your expertise in GIS software, advanced spatial analysis, and community engagement will enhance resource management efforts in the Eeyou Marine Region. This role demands solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and a cooperative mindset to facilitate partnerships with Indigenous communities. Key Responsibilities:
Establish centralized, accessible spatial databases for planning
Develop systems for data collection and verification
Conduct advanced spatial analysis for policy foundations
Design impactful maps and prepare comprehensive reports
Maintain databases and spatial metadata Requirements:
University Degree in GIS or related field
Minimum two years of skilled GIS experience
Familiarity with ESRI software and spatial analysis methods
Fluency in English required, French and Cree assets
