Role Description The Head Chef role at Mountainview Brewing is a full-time, in office position based in Hope, BC.

The Head

Chef oversees all kitchen operations, including menu planning, recipe development, food preparation, and plating to ensure a consistent guest experience. This role manages ordering, inventory, and cost control, while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.

Chef trains, schedules, and leads kitchen team members, fosters a positive and inclusive work environment, and collaborates with brewery leadership to pair menu offerings with house-made beers. The position also involves monitoring quality during service, responding to guest feedback,



and adapting the menu to seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role in a restaurant, brewpub, or hospitality setting.

Strong skills in menu development, recipe creation, and food presentation, with attention to flavor, consistency, and efficiency.

Proficiency in kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory management, and cost control.

Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and safe kitchen procedures.

Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse kitchen team, with strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Capability to work in a rapid-paced, high-volume setting and manage multiple tasks during service.

Interest in craft beer and experience pairing food with beverages is an asset.

Culinary education or formal training is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by brewery operations.
