St. Mildred’s‑Lightbourn School (SMLS) is an independent school for girls from JK to Grade 12 located on 10 acres in Olde Oakville.

Role Overview
Middle & Senior School Health & Physical Education Teacher to support the vision of empowering young women. The role involves developing and delivering creative, inquiry‑based programming and meeting individual student needs.

Position Details

Department: Middle & Senior School

Reports to: Principal, Middle School

Education: Bachelor of Education, Ontario Teacher Certification

Experience: 3+ years teaching Middle/Senior School Health & Physical Education

Additional Qualifications: experience in a non‑profit setting (asset), experience in an independent school (asset)

Working Conditions: Office/School setting, Mac, Google

Key Responsibilities

Teach Health and Physical Education classes within the Middle & Senior School.

Provide inspirational health and fitness learning experiences for students.

Work collaboratively within the department and faculty on curricular initiatives.

Maintain consistent and professional communication with students, faculty, and parents.

Contribute to the co‑cultural life of the School as an athletics coach.

Play an active role as a faculty member by engaging in professional learning, school activities, and special events.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation & Terms
Annual compensation is based on the Faculty Salary Grid, factoring in qualifications and up to 12 years of experience:

Entry to 6 Years: $62 436 – $95 210; Over 6 Years: $90 962 – $123 876.

SMLS is a member of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP). Artificial intelligence or automated decision‑making tools are not used in screening or selection.
