Overview The Finance Department Limited (TFDL) specializes in the Strategic Placement of Accounting & Finance Professionals on a Contract or Permanent basis. For over 20 years, TFDL has been successfully servicing a select group of clients, providing them with the best Intermediate-to-Senior level talent in the industry.
Our client is looking for an accounting skilled to join their team. This role reports to the Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities Assist with month-end close and prepare financial reporting packages
Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee Accounts Payable department, cash flow, and disbursements
Assist with the preparation of divisional financial reports and analysis




Support year-end audit and tax compliance (Canada and U.S.)
Identify and implement process improvements
Manage and develop a team of 3 direct reports
Handle other ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications CPA designation (or near completion)
3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in distribution or retail
Strong technical accounting knowledge is a must
Proven leadership and team management experience
Proficient in month-end close, reporting, and reconciliations
Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
Hands-on, Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
