Contract 9 months

Primarily remote, however, the resource, if needed, will be travelling to different facilities/locations throughout the Province, doing the following:

Configuring, installing, and connecting Wireless Access Points (WAPs)

Configuring and testing of Wireless LAN controllers and WAPs

Configuring and installing Cisco switches

Assisting with any backend configuration, cabling, on the Core network at Neil Crawford Centre

Setup, configure, test of Cisco firewalls and client connectivity

Assist with the setup, configuration, testing of SD-WAN services

Must-Have's:

Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and/or during block time/change windows outside of normal Government of Alberta business hours (8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Alberta time, Monday to Friday)

Direct involvement in developing best-practices documentation (for example, operational procedures, network diagrams, etc.) - 5 years

Experience providing customer service technical troubleshooting and problem resolution - 3 years

Experience with Cisco layer 1-3 technologies , including the planning, design, and implementation, of an intermediate to large scale network infrastructure - 3 years

Experience with networking aspects of Microsoft Windows desktop, servers, and nix-based servers - 3 years

Experience working with 802.11 wireless networks - 3 years

Hands-on experience with Cisco OTV including the planning, design, and implementation, of an intermediate to large scale network infrastructure - 3 years

Hands-on experience with QOS across an Enterprise Class organization,



which includes devices such as Catalyst 6500 switches, Nexus 7K and 5K, ISR (29xx and 4xxx Series), ASR routers series, Cisco switches (296x and 375x) and 3650/3850 series , including the planning, design, and implementation - 3 years

Nice-to-Have:

Experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures - 1 year

Experience in developing front-end requirements for emerging technologies (feasibility, analysis and design phases) - 2 years

Experience in performance measurement and creation of service level agreements - 1 year

Experience in the area of Data Centre's Core Network design and Data Centre disaster recovery - 1 year

Experience with Alberta SuperNet or similar network - 2 years

Experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and/or other routing protocols design and operations - 2 years

Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) technologies - 2 years

Experience with IPV6, including the planning, design, and implementation, in an intermediate to large-scale networks infrastructure - 4 years

Experience with network security and issues relating to "Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy" legislation as concerns the public sector - 1 year

Experience with wireless WAN technologies - 1 year

Experience working in the Government of Alberta Domain environment or an workplace of equivalent size and complexity - 2 years

Hands-on experience with Cisco OTV and the deployment of VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager (SRM) - 2 years

Knowledge and experience of MPLS and VPLS technologies - 1 year
