We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hydrovac Swamper/Assistant Operator to join our team. As a Hydrovac Swamper, you will be responsible to assist the Operator with operating and maintaining hydrovac equipment to safely and efficiently excavate soil and debris. This is a physically demanding role that requires operating heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
Safely operate hydrovac equipment to excavate soil and debris
Perform hydro excavation using high-pressure water and vacuum systems
Dig trenches, expose utilities, and perform daylighting operations
Conduct pre-trip inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning
Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
Complete daily logs, and other required documentation
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - Class 5 required for Swampers/Assistant Operators & Class 1A or 3A required for Operators
Experience operating hydrovac equipment is preferred but willing to train the right candidates
Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on equipment would be an asset
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
Valid Safety Tickets Required (willing to provide training for the right candidate): -Global Ground Disturbance Level II
