A major developer with a presence across Canada is looking for their newest Ottawa-based Senior Project Manager with demonstrated experience in wood‑framed mid‑rise construction. The organisation has a strong project pipeline with one ongoing mid‑rise project, one due to break ground this month, and three ready to start in 2026.
Description
Project Leadership: Lead the delivery of large‑scale multifamily and mixed‑use developments, ensuring all projects meet scope, budget, and schedule objectives.
Consultant & Design Team Oversight: Direct architects, engineers, and third‑party consultants, ensuring designs are coordinated, cost‑aligned, and constructible.
Budget & Forecast Discipline: Take full ownership of project financials. Monitor budgets, manage change orders, and maintain accurate, timely reporting.
Schedule Mastery: Build and manage master project schedules, anticipate constraints, implement recovery plans, and drive accountability across all stakeholders.
Contract & Risk Management: Negotiate, execute, and administer contracts with GCs, trades, and consultants. Identify risks early and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
Executive Communication: Provide explicit, concise updates to senior leadership focused on facts, risks, and solutions. Bridge communication between field teams and corporate leadership to ensure alignment.
Cross‑Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with development, construction,
and operations teams to ensure a seamless transition from concept through construction and into lease‑up.
Team Leadership: Lead your team with clarity and purpose‑setting expectations, fostering a solution‑oriented mindset, and driving high‑performance execution.
Profile
8+ years of project management experience in multifamily/apartment or mixed‑use developments.
Proven success managing consultants, contracts, and budgets on projects $50M+ in scale.
Expertise in pro forma analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Mastery of scheduling tools and techniques; ability to anticipate risks and build recovery plans.
Exceptional communication skills – able to manage up, down, and across with influence and authority.
A relevant engineering or construction focused degree would be an asset.
