Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to develop, implement, and monitor health and safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for all team members, contractors, and visitors. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of technical knowledge, leadership, and communication skills. This role requires someone who is organized, proactive, and capable of promoting a strong workplace safety culture through coaching, collaboration, and accountability.

Responsibilities
Develop, review, and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies tailored to construction sites.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, ensure adherence to safety procedures, and promote best practices.
Lead safety training sessions for staff and contractors, emphasizing hazard awareness and emergency response procedures.
Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with construction management teams to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
Monitor compliance with local regulations, OSHA standards (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and company policies.




Investigate accidents or near-misses thoroughly to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.
Coordinate with the office team and field team

Experience
Proven experience working within the construction industry, with a robust understanding of site safety protocols.
Familiarity with construction management software to track safety activities, documentation, and compliance metrics such as SiteDocs
Demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for training teams, conducting inspections, and liaising with regulatory bodies.
Additional safety training considered an asset, including WHMIS, Fall Protection, and related certifications.
Robust communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
