The Mint is hiring a Customer Experience Ambassador who can thrive in a energetic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Retails, the Customer Experience Ambassador will be responsible for providing informative, friendly and entertaining tours to visitors, promoting the Mint through the sale of its products and ensuring the seamless flow of day-to-day work activities in the boutique.

Qualifications:

Language Requirements: Proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire. If no qualified candidate fully meets the required levels, other candidate language profiles may be considered in accordance with the Mint’s Staffing Policy. Reading Comprehension: C Advanced

Written Expression: B Intermediate

Oral Proficiency: C Advanced

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
College diploma and experience in a similar function
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the tourism industry and/or in a retail setting
Customer service and sales experience is an asset

Knowledge:
Knowledge of the Royal Canadian Mint, its products and its markets




Guided tour and introduction techniques while greeting visitors
Use of computers and able to operate cash registers and cash handling
Inventory replenishing and control

Skills and Abilities:
Book and organize guided tours.
Lead guided tours in both official languages; confident with public speaking in groups up to 30 people
Answer visitor inquiries and complaints professionally, find appropriate solutions and resolve these efficiently
Excellent interpersonal skills and competent with selling and training techniques
Possess robust communication skills with positive teamwork attitude
Work well under pressure and comfortable with repetitive tasks.
Write clearly and concisely in both official languages
Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment. Able to determine priorities and remain organized

The retail boutique and tours operate 7 days a week. Ambassadors must be prepared to work both weekends and holidays as required. Candidate will be scheduled based on operational requirements and expected to be available for the scheduled hours.
