Become an integral part of Vancouver Coastal Health as an Addictions Medicine Physician, delivering crucial support for clients facing substance use challenges. This part-time role promotes an inter-qualified care model in Vancouver.
In this position, you will work across various Vancouver Community MHSU locations, committing between 2 to 5 sessions per week. The role emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive, trauma-informed practices in addiction medicine, contributing to enhanced patient care experiences for a diverse clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide addiction medicine services with a patient-centric focus
• Collaborate with healthcare teams for effective patient outcomes
• Support culturally safe practices for Indigenous clients
• Utilize trauma-informed strategies in treatment planning
• Involve family members in the recovery process
Requirements:
• Current full licensure from the College of Physicians of BC
• Certification from the Canadian College of Family Practitioners
• Proficiency in addiction medicine practices and assessments
• Completed BC Provincial Opioid Addiction Treatment Program
• Knowledge of harm reduction methodologies and community standards
