Responsibilities

- Team leader and ability to lead young professionals with a passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers.
- Develop a high-performing team and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and technical excellence.
- Prepare deliverables to facilitate project planning and budget control.
- Prepare the concept design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
- Oversee a talented team of mechanical professionals, guiding and development and ensuring top-tier project execution.
- Review and execute mechanical design and layout.
- Review mechanical technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.).
- Attend project meetings to coordinate with other disciplines and project consultants.
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with all safety and government regulations.
- Coordinate with other disciplines internally and externally with consultants and architects.
- Complete technical reviews and provide recommendations regarding designs and reports.
- Promote and maintain the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of mechanical engineering work.
- Complete audits of the work that is produced to ensure design is completed with quality and assurance.
- Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and architects,



subcontractors, contracting engineers, consultants, co‑workers and clients.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff members.
- Assist in business development and maintaining existing client relationships.

Qualifications, Experience and Education

- Post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline.
- Professional Engineering Designation (P. Eng.) in the Province of Nova Scotia.
- Minimum 10+ years of industry trade experience.
- Engineering and/or design coordination experience in the consulting industry would be beneficial.
- Experience in multi‑disciplined project coordination and management.

Required Skills

- Require comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices, complemented with a strong knowledge of project management concepts and practices.
- Experience conducting site visits would be an asset.
- Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non‑engineer team members in a clear manner.
- Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing at all organizational levels, including executives.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.




- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of REVIT would be an asset.
