Associate – Disputes (Construction) The Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), Canada's leading, innovative and client‑focused law firm, is seeking an Associate – Disputes (Construction).
Responsibilities Act on behalf of sureties, owners, contractors, subcontractors in disputes arising from public and private construction and infrastructure projects.
Advise sureties on multi‑project and large‑scale defaults and insolvencies, working collaboratively with lawyers across multiple practice areas.
Draft, advise and negotiate contracts for procurement and construction.
Advise on a broad range of construction issues such as breach of contract, breach of trust and construction liens.
Serve as a team member of a busy national construction group.
Progress in career advancement and development with numerous client‑facing responsibilities.
Qualifications Minimum 4–6 years of experience in construction and infrastructure law.
Team player who takes great pride in their work.
Solid analytical, personal, oral and written communication skills.
