Sr. IFRS17 Data Engineer (C#, SQL, MVC, WPF)

Location: Toronto – Hybrid (4 Days WFO)
Duration: 12 Months

Job Description

Must have hands-on IFRS17 experience with strong Data Analysis and Insurance domain knowledge.

Positive to have exposure to Dataiku.

Strong expertise in Data Analysis, SQL, Python, and PySpark.

Develop and maintain backend systems using Python and PySpark, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.

Design and implement Data Engineering and ETL pipelines using PySpark.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.

Mentor and guide engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, and best practices.

Stay updated with emerging technologies and frameworks to improve systems and processes.

Lead technical direction including architecture, design, and implementation of software solutions.

Work closely with Product Owners to define and prioritize business and technical requirements.

Develop and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams and technical specifications.

Participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards and high-quality deliverables.





Collaborate with DevOps and Operations teams for smooth deployment and application support.

Strong expertise in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementation.

Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project needs.

Proven experience leading technical teams with mentoring and coaching responsibilities.

Strong technical decision-making, task prioritization, and resource management skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Ability to drive technical innovation by researching and recommending new technologies and solutions.

Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Hands-on experience with PySpark for Data Engineering and ETL pipelines.
