The ACP (Advanced Care Paramedic) provides immediate treatment and transportation of sick and injured individuals to appropriate medical facilities. ACPs operate within the scope of the Advanced Care practice and provide leadership throughout each shift using specified educational training.



The ACP is responsible for decision‑making, leadership and safety of the ambulance during each shift. ACPs work alongside PCPs and ICPS and provide reliable insight during emergency medical situations. A high level of professionalism, communication, and knowledge is expected due to the public nature of the role. The ACP conducts themselves in a safe and discreet manner, with responsibility for conduct justified to patients, family members, hospital staff, management, public agencies, legal court, and more.
