JOB SUMMARY The Case Aide shall perform specific duties for Stoney Nakoda Child and Family Services and is expected to work in a team environment to deliver services for the benefit of Stoney Children and for the well-being of the family unit.
TASK AND DUTIES v Transports Clients to Therapy, Court, and other agreed upon appointments v Conducts a Risk Assessment to evaluate situations to maintain the safety of the children v Interprets for client and/or staff v Assist Staff in ensuring clients have a Treaty Status Card.
v Complete Federal Government Forms regarding Child Tax Advantage v Complete skeleton information on mandatory forms for the Caseworkers v Develops and maintains spreadsheets to monitor the use and amounts being spent on Service Providers v Develops and maintains spreadsheets to document the Band each client is registered with v Completes R&E;’s for Intervention Workers v May complete face to face contact with clients v May input matters on CICIO (computer system)
v Submits reports to the Coordinator/Program Supervisor on a monthly basis regarding fee for services v Serves legal documents to clients v Assists clients in obtaining proper identification and perks v Meet with case workers to review client files
EDUCATION, SKILLS,
AND REQUIREMENTS ü Minimum High School Diploma. Preference given to related post secondary diplomas ü Valuable knowledge of both Stoney and English languages required ü Must possess a class 5 driver’s license ü Willingness to use personal vehicle and obtain $1,000,000 liability and collision coverage ü Ability to maintain client confidentiality ü Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
ü Excellent in the use of Excel ü In depth knowledge of the Child Welfare Act, SNCFS and AFSS policies and procedures ü Knowledge in family dynamics, behavioral patterns, and family abuse.
OTHER v Liaises and maintains communication with community based programs and management, government agencies, parents, caregivers, community members and other related organizations v Represents SNCFS when interacting with partners, Child and Family Services and Delegated First Nation Agencies v Ensures personnel administration is in accordance to STA regulations and policy and Provincial legislations v Eligible to be appointed as a Commissioner for Oaths for the Province of Alberta
