Responsibilities
Safely operate boats according to established navigation and safety procedures, ensuring passenger and crew safety at all times
Conduct pre-departure inspections of vessels, including rigging checks and mechanical system assessments
Assist with loading and unloading passengers and cargo, ensuring proper handling and securement
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, answering questions, and addressing needs promptly
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, inspecting rigging equipment, and reporting mechanical issues
Follow all safety protocols during emergency situations or adverse weather conditions to protect passengers and crew
Maintain accurate logs of trips, safety checks, maintenance activities, and incident reports
Experience
Prior experience operating boats or similar watercraft in a professional setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
Knowledge of rigging techniques and mechanical systems relevant to boat operation is highly desirable
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse groups of passengers
Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and routine maintenance tasks confidently
Minimum boat certificates of SVOP MEDA3 and first aid level one. Issued from Transport Canada.
