Job Title: Materials Coordinator
Location: Toronto, ON
Position Type: Full-time
Job Summary
The Materials Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the inventory, tracking, and distribution of materials and supplies required for daily operations. This role acts as a vital bridge between procurement, the warehouse, and project teams to ensure that all necessary parts and materials are available when needed, preventing project delays while maintaining cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Monitor, track, and maintain accurate inventory levels of materials, parts, and equipment using inventory management software.
Shipping & Receiving: Oversee the receipt of incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips, and log items into the system.
Material Allocation: Coordinate the internal distribution of materials to various departments, technicians, or project sites based on scheduled demands.
Vendor Coordination: Interface with suppliers and logistics providers to track orders, address discrepancies, manage returns, and expedite urgent shipments.
Quality & Compliance: Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects,
ensuring everything meets company quality standards and safety regulations.
Reporting: Generate regular inventory reports, conduct physical audits (cycle counts), and flag potential shortages or surpluses to management.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in materials coordination, inventory control, logistics, or warehouse operations.
Education: High school diploma required; a post-secondary degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is a solid asset.
Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with inventory management software (ERP/MRP systems) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Skills: * Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Robust communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and handle shifting priorities.
Optional/Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate standard warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) if required by the specific site.
