The Specialty Pharma Nurse (Registered Nurse) role reports to the Specialty Pharma Supervisor and/or Specialty Pharma Nurse Manager. The nurse delivers and monitors specialized infusion, injectable, or oral pharmacological treatments in home and/or clinic settings. This casual position allows nurses to manage their own patient portfolio with a adaptable schedule tailored to each individual's lifestyle.
FONCTIONS ET RESPONSABILITÉS Élaborer et réviser des plans de soins infirmiers individualisés pour chaque patient(e);
Effectuer des évaluations de l'état de santé des patient(e)s et enseigner les procédures d'administration des médicaments;
Obtenir un accès intraveineux par le biais de la mise en place d'une perfusion intraveineuse périphérique ou d'un accès au cathéter central (CCIP, DAVC, etc.);
Préparer différents traitements pharmacologiques spécialisés et les administrer par voie intraveineuse ou par injection;
Fournir des soins aux patient(e)s en utilisant les compétences d’observation, d’évaluation, de diagnostic infirmier, de conseil et d’enseignement sanitaire, et signaler tout événement indésirable au superviseur direct ou aux parties prenantes requises;
Effectuer les tâches infirmières courantes conformément aux politiques et aux procédures de l'entreprise ainsi qu'aux normes de l'organisme provincial de réglementation des soins infirmiers;
Fournir des soins centrés sur le patient(e) conformément au plan de soins établi ou aux directives médicales;
Effectuer des interventions de soins infirmiers spécialisé impliquant une formation reconnue et des compétences actuelles qui ont été démontrées et actualisées conformément aux normes;
Poursuivre, selon les besoins, les formations liées au rôle, aux médicaments et à la pharmacovigilance;
Observer et documenter l’état de santé des patient(e)s;
Signaler et documenter les événements indésirables conformément aux exigences de la pharmacovigilance;
Accomplir toutes les autres tâches demandées.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and review nursing care plans that are individualized to each patient.
Conduct patient health assessments and medication administration teaching.
Obtain IV access through peripheral IV initiation or central line access (PICC, IVAD, etc.).
Prepare and administer a variety of specialized intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments.
Provide patient care by utilizing the skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, health teaching, and reporting any adverse events to immediate supervisor or required stakeholders.
Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and provincial body standards.
Provide patient centered care according to the established care plan or medical directive.
Perform specialized nursing procedures for which recognized training and current competencies have been demonstrated and updated per standards.
Maintain role related, medication and pharmacovigilance training as required.
Observe and document patient conditions.
Report and document Adverse Events as per Pharmacovigilance requirements.
Complete all other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS Formation (French): Diplôme de baccalauréat en sciences infirmières (B. Sc. inf.) ou l’équivalent, obtenu dans le cadre d'un programme de formation en soins infirmiers accrédité;
Inscription actuelle et en règle auprès de l'organisme provincial de réglementation des soins infirmiers;
Certification en cours de validité en soins immédiats en réanimation (SIR);
Certification en cours de validité en soins avancés en réanimation cardiovasculaire (SARC) est requise pour le poste en clinique;
Avoir suivi un cours de chimiothérapie ou de biothérapie est un atout.
Education (English): Graduated from an accredited nursing education program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.
Current registration and in good standing with provincial nursing regulatory body.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for clinic role.
Completion of a Chemotherapy – Biotherapy course is an asset.
If the required qualifications are not possessed by the successful candidate, the candidate will be required to obtain certification necessary for the location of their work. Training for the certification will be completed on the successful candidate's own time.
Experience: Experience in acute care and/or with administering specialty pharmaceuticals.
Experience with home care is an asset.
Critical care (e.g., ER or ICU), infusion clinic, or oncology experience is preferred.
Exceptional peripheral IV initiation skills.
Experience with central lines (IVAD, PICC, etc.) is an asset.

Ability to transcribe physician’s orders.
Valid driver’s license.
