Job Summary Altus Group is hiring a Cost Analyst, Mechanical within its Cost Consulting & Project Management division in downtown Calgary. The role supports cost consulting services for new and existing clients across mechanical components of building and infrastructure projects, collaborating with internal and external partners, managing client relationships, and assisting with lifecycle analysis.
Key Responsibilities Provide a full range of cost estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to pre-tender stage for recent and existing clients.
Inspect and assess mechanical elements throughout projects and perform trade take-offs.
Perform mechanical take-offs using assorted means and methods.
Collaborate with partners to obtain necessary information to prepare reports.
Assist with lifecycle analysis (cost estimate, current condition, remaining life, maintenance cost, etc.).
Maintain ongoing client communication, resolve issues as required, and escalated to next level of management when necessary.




Manage client relationships to achieve contract renewal, referrals, and service expansion including upsells and cross-sells.
Key Qualifications 1–2+ years of related experience in mechanical cost consulting/estimating.
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technologist or trade related experience.
Understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems in various building types.
Excellent communication skills—interpersonal, written, and presentation.
Self‑motivated with high integrity, honesty, ethics, multitasking ability and meeting tight deadlines.
Proficient in Excel, Word, and on‑screen take‑off tools.
Understanding of the construction industry including development, contracting, and consulting services.
Experience with CIQS standard method of measurement – elemental/trade, Uniformat; working toward PQS and/or MRICS designation is an asset.
