Mine Equipment Operators – Position Overview
We are specifically searching for Operators that are fully qualified on the following equipment/services: D65 Drill, Pit Viper.
Key Responsibilities
Safe and reliable equipment operation.
Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety standards.
Clean, lubricate and perform regular safety checks on equipment.
Ensure equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off, or loading and unloading.
Ensure equipment exterior and interior are kept clean and safe.
Identify faults and troubleshoot equipment as required.
Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
Continually seek to improve your skills as an operator and maintainer.
Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
Embrace the MineStar high precision GPS system to improve autonomous haulage and drilling efficiency and effectiveness.
Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Consider risk along the five dimensions: throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost.
Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
Mentor and train new team members.
Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
Participate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver on our commitments to our team, communities, environment and shareholders.
Job Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent.
6 months of heavy equipment operation.
Equipment maintenance experience is an asset.
Valid driver’s license.
Clean driving record.
Heavy equipment operator training is an asset.
