This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is responsible for receiving, preparing, and delivering Rx accurately and on time. The role ensures adequate inventory levels to meet patients’ needs, provides counseling with appropriate documentation, and promotes friendly, proactive interaction with all customers. It also supervises staff and maintains the financial and operational success of the department.
Proof of OCP Licensure Required – submit OCP License number with application.
What You’ll Do
Supervise and provide guidance and direction to pharmacy staff.
Hire, manage performance, and coach all pharmacy staff.
Create pharmacy schedules and arrange vacation and shift coverage.
Ensure financial and operational success of the pharmacy department.
Obtain and review budgeted sales and net contribution of the pharmacy to the grocery store.
Identify and report sales opportunities both internally and externally.
Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy.
Ensure pharmacy operations follow OCP and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintain adequate medication and counter inventory levels to meet patient needs.
Attend meetings as assigned.
Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely for patients.
Provide counseling to patients about new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive manner.
Administer vaccinations and other activities as legislated by the Pharmacist Scope of Practice Program (including point‑of‑care testing, prescription modification and advancement, minor ailments, etc.).
Provide pharmaceutical professional services such as medication reviews,
follow‑ups, and minor ailment prescribing.
Offer on‑going training for all recent and existing pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, assistants, students, IPG’s).
Create awareness and educate customers through public relations events (public health days, clinics, etc.).
What You’ll Need
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail pharmacy environment.
Injection certification, CPR certification.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong people‑management skills and the ability to motivate and coach others.
Excellent customer‑service skills and a keen sense of professionalism.
Proven ability to build the business using community‑based marketing strategies.
Strong problem‑solving skills, including experience formulating and executing action plans.
Strong personal computing skills (MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word) and working knowledge of the HealthWatch Pharmacy computer system.
Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche: $57.40 - $74.25 per hour. Salary may vary based on experience, knowledge, and geographic location.
