Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Network Specialist in Canada to design, install, and maintain IT network infrastructure across multiple sites, ensuring reliability, security, and high performance.
Responsibilities Plan, design, and install new network systems including hardware and software.
Perform routine maintenance, schedule updates, and execute upgrades to keep systems at peak performance.
Implement and manage network security measures (firewalls, access controls, encryption) to protect against cyber threats and maintain compliance with NIST 800-171.
Utilize SIEM tools such as Splunk for anomaly detection, packet analysis, and rapid mitigation.
Configure and maintain firewalls with Integrated IPS and AMP, manage secure network access via Cisco ISE or similar.
Extend on‑premises networks to cloud environments while ensuring scalability and security.
Provide technical support to end‑users, troubleshoot and resolve network‑related issues and communicate status to stakeholders.
Maintain detailed records of configurations, installations, and maintenance activities.
Implement and enforce network policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, security, and compliance.
Support various IT initiatives and projects to contribute to overall success.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in network design, implementation, and maintenance.
Preferred Cisco CCIE or CCNA certification.




Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, cloud environments).
Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and best practices.
Deep understanding of network protocols, security principles, authentication mechanisms, RADIUS/TACACS+.
Experience with scripting/automation tools.
Solid written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities for complex networking challenges.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Collaborative mindset for cross‑functional teams.
Commitment to high accuracy and reliability.
Bilingual in French/English is an asset.
Background check and Government of Canada security clearance required.
Work Arrangement This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with set onsite days.
