GFL Environmental is looking for a Supervisor to help lead the growing team in HRM, NS, overseeing projects in civil, contaminated soils, mobile water treatment, hazardous waste, petroleum, and general labour support for clients ranging from industrial plants to large construction and municipal entities throughout Atlantic Canada.
Key Responsibilities Plan and execute a wide variety of projects.
Lead a crew to safety and efficiently execute jobs.
Ensure safety and project paperwork is maintained.
Conduct on‑site operations in accordance with corporate policies, permit conditions, and customer specifications.
Supervise daily activities to ensure project targets are met.
Assist with estimating project costs for tender purposes.
Develop and execute work plans to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
Plan and schedule projects under the guidance of the manager.
Maintain trucks and equipment for efficient operation.
Create and sustain working relationships with coworkers, contractors, and municipal inspectors.
Comply with and follow company safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Experience in Industrial Cleaning, Water Treatment, civil excavation, demolition, waste management, concrete,
or general construction.
Supervisory experience is an asset.
Mechanical inclination.
Confined Space Experience.
Display flexibility and confidentiality.
Highly driven, focused and self‑motivated.
Ability to work well in a team setting.
Additional Requirements Overnight weekday travel in company vehicle up to 50% of the time.
10–12 hour shifts.
Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
