What is the role of a Financial Planner?
As a Financial Planner, you will develop and deepen mass‑affluent client relationships by providing high‑quality advice and service. You will build and leverage external and internal networks, creating sustainable growth for your practice.

External clients – Engage in proactive outreach to individuals outside the Scotiabank network, showcasing the unique value you bring to their financial journey. Demonstrate how expert financial planning can empower clients to clarify and achieve their objectives.

Internal clients – Deepen relationships with existing Scotiabank clients who have limited interaction with the bank. Identify opportunities and cultivate meaningful connections, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor and ensuring seamless access to Scotiabank’s resources.

As a Financial Planner you are:

Responsibilities

Drive investment sales and new client acquisition while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Build business development opportunities with prospects and clients in the assigned market area.

Promote sustainable growth of proprietary investment business by executing business development plans, identifying opportunities, and implementing investment solutions.

Provide client‑centric investment solutions, conduct outbound communications, and perform complimentary needs analysis across financial statements.

Participate in local professional and community events,



deliver information sessions and financial seminars to expand your network and prospects.

Qualifications

3+ years in financial planning and investment sales.

Mutual fund certified professional with current CIRO licensing (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).

Completed PFP® and/or CFP® designation.

Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills; experience building and maintaining Centres of Influence.

Goal‑oriented, entrepreneurial, capable of independent work and team collaboration.

Extensive knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions and regulatory environment.

Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for client visits.

Other Information
Compensation is base plus variable pay. The role is mobile and requires frequent travel.

Locations: North York, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham (Ontario, Canada).
