Three Islands Veterinary Services Three Islands Veterinary Services is a small animal practice located in a beautiful small town nestled between two of the most scenic Kawartha Lakes. We are proud to have meaningful relationships with our clients and specialize in dentistry, receiving referrals from many clinics in our area.
Externship Overview Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and managing medical care for patients. In addition to practicing clinical skills, students will have the opportunity to develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Eligibility and Stipend Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel and living expense stipend. Stipend amounts and detailed eligibility requirements are available through the NVA Canada stipend program.
Benefits Externship duration ranges from two to eight weeks, depending on student and practice schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA Canada externships.
