Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Winnipeg, MB. The position is on‑site and requires local travel to customer sites. The expected annual salary range is $69,000 – $87,000, with eligibility for overtime compensation. Salary is a guideline and is based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market and business considerations.
Responsibilities Perform emergency and preventive maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on‑call basis with regional responsibility.
Perform on‑site or in‑house servicing and repair of company products.
Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
Serve as customer contact for technical and service‑related problems.
Qualifications Basic Required Qualifications
College degree/diploma from an accredited institution in Electrical, Electronics, Engineering Technology OR Red Seal (309A) Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certification.
One (1) year of experience with UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) OR battery technologies OR electronics.
Must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
Required to travel to the United States for product and safety training when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic understanding of UPS rectifier or inverter.
Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and schemes.
What Makes You Successful? This technician role involves moderately complex service assignments that require strong technical judgment, initiative, and effective problem‑solving. Success relies on excellent customer focus, solid time‑management abilities, and clear verbal and written communication skills. When not in the field you may work from home.
All positions may require participation in video and in‑person interviews. Candidates must complete our comprehensive training program, which includes travel to the United States for product and safety training.
