We are seeking a passionate and energetic Out of School Care Leader to join our vibrant team dedicated to enriching children's lives beyond the classroom. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a secure, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during after-school hours. Your leadership will inspire children to explore, learn, and develop new skills through fun and educational activities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners while fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
This position is Monday-Friday 2:00pm-5:00pm daily. There is potential for additional hours subbing in our early years programs.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver a variety of stimulating activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction among children.
Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and caregivers through effective communication and support.
Implement age-appropriate tutoring and teaching strategies to assist children with homework and skill development.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment that encourages exploration and fun.
Monitor children's behavior and provide guidance to promote respectful interactions and conflict resolution.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop program schedules, activities, and special events that meet the diverse needs of children.
Requirements
Valid First Aid level B with child/infant CPR
Preference will be given to those who hold a class 5 license or those willing to obtain one.
Responsible adult course or ECEA certification
Clear criminal record check
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices for child development.
Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members.
Ability to create an inclusive setting that celebrates diversity and encourages participation.
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth in a secure setting.
Relevant certifications or training in childcare or early childhood education are preferred but not mandatory.
