Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with dealership repairs, heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment, along with solid mechanical and electrical knowledge. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse equipment in a rapid-paced environment, providing essential maintenance and repair services to keep operations running smoothly.
Duties
Perform routine inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
Conduct repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized diagnostic tools
Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
Maintain and service industrial equipment such as HVAC systems, automotive components, and other machinery
Replace or repair faulty parts, perform assemblies, and ensure proper alignment of components
Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs when necessary
Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
Qualifications
Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment repair; dealership experience is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of excavator, crane, forklift, Caterpillar equipment, and other industrial machinery
Skilled in welding, electrical troubleshooting, schematics reading, and mechanical assembly
Experience working with farm machinery and HVAC systems is a plus
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment required for heavy equipment maintenance
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery when needed
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients or internal teams regarding repairs
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment
Relevant certifications or technical training in automotive repair or industrial maintenance are advantageous
Pay: Up to $55.41 per hour
