Immervision is looking for an Image Quality Scientist with a proven track record in camera image quality, ISP tuning, and imaging-system evaluation. The team member will partner with stakeholders to define the image quality requirements for our reference devices and perception features; tune recent camera modules across the imaging pipeline; manage per-module calibration; characterize and validate image quality through both objective metrics and subjective evaluation.
This is a full time (40-hour) position offering hybrid remote and onsite work in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Qualifications
Three or more years in camera image quality or a related role.
Hands-on camera ISP tuning across the imaging pipeline: auto-exposure, auto-white-balance, auto-focus, color correction, gamma and tone mapping, lens shading, noise reduction, and sharpness.
Image quality characterization and evaluation, both objective (MTF/sharpness, SNR, agile range, color accuracy, distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberration, flare, texture) and subjective/perceptual.
Experience building and running IQ test setups: standard test charts, controlled and repeatable lighting, and lab measurement equipment.
Proficiency with image quality tools (e.g., Imatest) and Python scripting for test automation and analysis.
Solid understanding of camera systems and the imaging chain, from optics through the sensor to the ISP.
Familiarity with camera interfaces (MIPI CSI-2, I2C) and the ability to read hardware schematics.
Fluent in English.
Plus
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Optics/Photonics, Imaging Science, Physics, or a related field.
Experience with Qualcomm (e.g., Chromatix) and NVIDIA camera tuning frameworks.
Experience with C/C++ embedded development.
Experience across operating systems — Windows on ARM (WoA), Android, Linux, and QNX.
Experience with GStreamer, OpenCV, FFmpeg or similar image-processing frameworks.
